Bryan Mbeumo could grab dream shirt number if he completes Manchester United transfer

Bryan Mbeumo could grab his dream shirt number if he completes a proposed move to Manchester United . Speculation around the Brentford forward, 25, remains at fever pitch, as United continue to pursue business in the transfer market. They have already snapped-up Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5million. But with attacking reinforcements the main remit for Ineos this summer , Mbeumo is also on radar. He totted-up 20 goals and eight assists in the Premier League alone last season as an ever-present for Brentford. The 22-cap Cameroon international is said to have Arsenal, Newcastle and United monitoring his situation. An offer worth £45million with a further £10million in add-ons has been tabled by United. Brentford, though, are thought to value the forward at £60million-plus. As such, the transfer saga rumbles on. Should things go to plan and Mbeumo eventually signs on the dotted line, he could have a straight-forward choice when it comes to his United shirt number. Indeed, the No.19, which he has worn throughout his time with Brentford and for the Cameroon national team previously, remains unassigned at Old Trafford . Raphael Varane wore No.19 during his three-year stint before leaving United on a free transfer last summer. Despite his seemingly obvious decision, there are other options for the Mbeumo to consider, barring any other in-house changes at Old Trafford and beyond. High-profile numbers currently unassigned include - No.19, No.27, No.28, No.29 and No.30. Victor Lindelof (No.2), Jonny Evans (No.35), Christian Eriksen (No.14) are due to leave as free agents this summer to free up those options, while Antony (No.21) and Jadon Sancho (No.25) are actively being earmarked for permanent transfers following loan spells at Real Betis and Chelsea , respectively. Real Betis do not hold an option-to-buy for Antony - while Chelsea have opted to side-step Sancho. The same goes for Marcus Rashford (No.10). However, Cunha is expected to grab that number himself.
