Business reports burglary costing them upwards of $100,000: Highland Heights Police Blotter

Breaking and entering: Alpha Drive
An employee of Park Place Technologies reported April 16 that numerous computer items were found on the ground outside the business after an apparent burglary.
Investigating officers believed that the suspects entered the business through a roof hatch.
The incident is under investigation with the business suspecting that as much as $100,000 worth of computer parts had been stolen.
Theft: Alpha Drive
Drug Mart loss prevention confronted a shoplifter as she was leaving the store April 15 with a basket of merchandise.
The suspect dropped the basket and fled to a waiting vehicle that was being driven by a man.
The vehicle was not located by responding officers, but the business said they would press charges if the woman was identified.
The total value of the theft was $242.

A woman said April 15 that during a birthday party at Sky Zone for her daughter, the child’s father grabbed the girl by the arm after she told him she did not want any food.
She said the father was invited but she wanted the matter documented due to an ongoing custody dispute.

A man, 18, said April 15 that he overheard his brother, 27, say on the phone that he would hit his father with a hammer if he came into his room.
Officers spoke to all those at the home and the brother denied making any threats.
Juvenile complaint: Ford Road
An unlicensed golf cart was stopped by officers for driving on the roadway without any lights at 10 p.m. April 18.
The man, 19, operating the cart was cited for having no headlights, no plates and no seatbelt. He had been cited the previous year as well when he was found driving the cart in the roadway.
The cart was towed due to it not being allowed to be driven on the roadway.

Officers responded to Norman Noble April 21 for a report of a disgruntled employee from the contracted janitorial company.
The Cleveland Heights man, 44, had been fired that morning but returned to the business on two separate occasions to argue with another employee. During one such encounter, he was said to have threatened to “shoot up” that man’s house.
Officers contacted the suspect and advised him that if he returned to the business he could be arrested.

A Cleveland man reported April 22 that an airsoft rifle he ordered online had been stolen from the UPS facility in the city.
He said that tracking showed the package was loaded onto a truck and out for delivery to his home but when the driver got to his home, he could locate the package.
The incident is under investigation, but the man has since filed a claim with UPS.
Menacing: Highland Road
A woman reported April 22 that she was being threatened by her brother-in-law because she reported a previous incident to police in which she was purposely struck by a mirror on his truck while the Florida man was at her home with her sister.
