PITTSFIELD — As the years have passed by, the Mass Open has become one of the nation’s most popular state Opens with golfers from all over the country – and beyond – trying to earn their way into the field. That reality hit home on Thursday when the Country Club of Pittsfield hosted an Open qualifier for this year’ tournament at Sacconnesset Golf Club on Cape Cod.
