Travelling in June can be great for those looking for sun, sea, and reasonable prices. Before the peak season arrives, many Spanish beaches offer very accessible rates. It’s the perfect time to plan a low-cost trip to the beach and beat the July rush. The most expensive tip in this article is an all-inclusive for 60 euros. So, imagine how great the others are.
Cheap beaches in southern and eastern Spain
Almuñécar (Costa Tropical) is one of the most affordable destinations. This Andalusian town combines history, good weather, and quiet beaches. In June, a night in a three-star hotel costs about 40 to 60 euros.
Walk down the old town’s maze-like streets, where whitewashed houses drip with bougainvillaea. Playa Velilla’s gentle waves are great for children. And the beachside chiringuitos have espetos (grilled sardines on a stick) for just 6 euros. Don’t forget to visit the free-admission Castillo de San Miguel tour and its killer views.
La Manga (Costa Cálida) offers miles of beaches between the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean, which is fantastic for long walks up and down the oceanside. Hotel apartments start at just 35 euros a night, perfect for family outings.
The Mar Menor’s warm, shallow lagoon is like a giant pool for kids, making it ideal for paddleboarding at 10 euros an hour, unless you have your own. Grab a 9 euro paella at a beach bar and watch fishermen haul in the day’s catch.
June’s 24-26°C weather is just right. Make sure to visit the Sunday Cabo de Palos market for cheap but juicy tomatoes to whip up your own gazpacho at your apartment’s kitchenette.
Benidorm (Costa Blanca) remains a safe bet. Although it’s heavily visited, you can still find hotels from 45 euros a night in June. Plus, there are daily menus for less than 12 euros.
Levante Beach is party central, with 3-euro sangrias and great music, but Poniente’s quieter for siestas.
The old town’s two-euro tapas, including albóndigas or patatas bravas, are to die for. June brings free fiestas like the Hogueras de San Juan, with bonfires and street dancers. Families, hit Mundomar for 15-euro dolphin shows (book online).
Benidorm Beach
Benicàssim (Costa del Azahar) is quiet and family-friendly. Perfect for unwinding on a budget. A modest hotel costs between 40 and 55 euros a night, with easy access to vast, clean beaches.
Rent a bike for about 4 euros a day and cruise the Via Verde trail, a flat coastal path with orange groves.
Locals swear by 10 menú del día specials, dishing up seafood fideuà that’ll make you text home in caps and selfies. The Desert de les Palmes park is free to hike and has trails to cliffside lookouts. June’s low-key vibe beats August’s tourist crush.
Roquetas de Mar (Costa de Almería) combines sun, tranquility, and low prices. And it has all-inclusive hotels starting at 60 euros, which is excellent if you don’t want to worry about going out and spending too much on meals.
Playa Serena’s Blue Flag sands are pristine, with sunbed rentals at 2 euros. Tapas in the old town cost 3 euros each, including croquetas and a cerveza. The 2-euro Punta Entinas-Sabinar nature reserve is a hidden gem for flamingo-spotting. Golfers, June tee times at Playa Serena Golf start at 25 euros. Isn’t that a bargain!
Puerto de Santa María (Costa de la Luz) is another accessible gem with exquisite cuisine, expansive beaches, and an Andalusian atmosphere you’ll never forget. Nightly rates in hostels or apartments are anywhere between 35 euros and 55 euros.
Valdelagrana Beach hums with 15-euro kitesurfing lessons for thrill-seekers. Sherry fans, hit a bodega for 8-euro tours, sipping nutty fino with 5-euro jamón boards.
Take a 4-euro ferry to Cádiz for a day of cathedral gawking. June’s balmy nights beg for 3-euro tinto de verano on a terrace.
More Low-cost alternatives in the north
Lloret de Mar (Costa Brava) ranks well for low-cost beach destinations. Two- or three-star hotels cost around 40 to 50 euros. In addition, it offers a wide range of nightlife and outdoor activities.
Sa Caleta’s cove screams Instagram, with 10-euro kayak rentals to explore sea caves. The 5-euro Santa Clotilde Gardens are a shady oasis for picnics.
Nightlife includes 8-euro clubs that pump reggaeton, but daytime 5-euro empanada stalls keep it real. Lloret’s a bit rowdy, but June’s not yet peak chaos.
Smart moves for June savings
June’s your sweet spot—crowds are thin, and prices haven’t spiked. Book flights now: Ryanair’s 15 to 30-euro fares to Málaga or Alicante are common in April.
Car rentals are 12 euros a day, that is, if you shop early, versus 22 euros in July. Renfe trains to Valencia or Cádiz start at €18 with 30-day advance tickets.
Local fiestas, like Almuñécar’s San Juan or Lloret’s free beach concerts, add zero-cost fun—think fireworks and 2-euro churros.
Midweek hotel stays save 10-20 per cent, and skipping extra luggage on budget flights dodges 15-euro fees. Oh, and haggle at markets—vendors expect it!
June is the perfect month to enjoy Spain’s beaches and not spend too much because you precede the tourism season, when prices are higher.
Almuñécar, La Manga, Benidorm, Benicàssim, El Puerto de Santa María, Roquetas de Mar, and Lloret de Mar offer affordable accommodation and guaranteed sunshine. Ideal for that pre-summer getaway you’ve been dreaming of all year long.
