Chelsea failed to get maximum points against Ipswich on Sunday afternoon as they played a draw at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have had a torrid time in the last few weeks and have dropped unnecessary points in their chase for Champions League football next season.
They needed a win against Ipswich to get back into the top four but could only settle for a 2-2 draw despite pushing for a comeback in the game.
As it happened
Chelsea captain Reece James started on the bench for the Blues, while Jadon Sancho dropped out of the starting XI following his two assists in a 3-0 win against Legia Warsaw on Thursday.
It was a nightmare start for Chelsea as Julio Enciso scored the first goal for Ipswich in the 20th minute.
10 minutes later, Ben Johnson doubled the visitors lead in the first half, leaving Chelsea players and coach stunned.
Chelsea kickstarted their comeback in the second half, having got a goal back from Axel Tuanzebe's own goal.
The Blues got the equaliser in the 79th minute from a resulting corner, which Jadon Sancho converted to get his team back into the game.
Chelsea failed to complete their comeback despite all their effort and could only settle for a draw after the final whistle.
