Chhaava Movie Collection Day 38:
Cricket might be stealing the spotlight right now, but Chhaava is proving that a good film doesn’t back down without a fight! Even with IPL fever gripping the country, Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama is still pulling in audiences, crossing a massive Rs 583 crore at the box office by Day 38. With stadiums packed for thrilling cricket matches, fans are still turning up in big numbers to watch Vicky’s powerful portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj on the big screen.
Chhaava even saw a slight increase in collections this weekend. According to Sacnilk, Chhaava saw a 31 per cent jump in collections on Sunday, bringing in Rs 4.8 crore. This boost pushed its total domestic earnings to Rs 583.35 crore. The film also recorded an 18.85 per cent overall Hindi occupancy on Sunday.
On the global front, Chhaava continues its impressive run, raking in a whopping Rs 780 crore worldwide, including Rs 90.50 crore from overseas markets.
After earning Rs 33.35 crore in its fifth week, Chhaava maintained a steady pace, bringing in around Rs 2 crore per day. However, the film picked up momentum over the weekend, witnessing a massive 73.81 per cent jump on Saturday with earnings of Rs 3.65 crore, followed by an even bigger surge on Sunday.
While Chhaava remains one of the strongest sixth-weekend performers, it still trails behind Jawan (Rs 10.559 crore) and Stree 2 (Rs 18.6 crore) in terms of box office collections in the same period.
Chhaava has already outpaced several major blockbusters in India net collections, surpassing films like Pathaan (Rs 543.09 crore), Animal (Rs 553.87 crore), Gadar 2 (Rs 525.7 crore), and PK (Rs 340.80 crore). Now, the film is just Rs 14 crore away from overtaking Stree 2’s India net collection of Rs 597.99 crore.
Chhaava is a historical action film based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, who is played by Vicky Kaushal. An adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant, it is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna. The film score and soundtrack album are composed by A. R. Rahman while the lyrics are written by Irshad Kamil and Kshitij Patwardhan.
