Hyderabad: The sudden spell of summer rain saw children across various residential areas — including Goshamahal, Khilwat, Himayatnagar, Domalguda, Chintalbasti, Trimulgherry, Marredpally, and Barkatpura —celebrating the unseasonal showers. With many schools operating half-day sessions, children were home early, seizing the opportunity to play cricket, cycle through wet streets, and enjoy the rain — capturing the true spirit of childhood. In Barkatpura, home to several colleges, students emerged from campuses just as the rains intensified, adding a buzz of excitement to the area. Similar scenes unfolded across other college zones in the city. Groups of youngsters also made the most of the showers by heading out on bike rides. One such group — Omar, Shaid, Yesh, Phalak, Nandani, and Tanisha — set off from Basheerbagh, revelling in the rain. With the rain cooling the city, residents and tourists flocked popular hangout spots such as Durgam Cheruvu, KBR Park, and Hussainsagar, where people gathered along Tank Bund, NTR Marg, and Necklace Road. Many were seen clicking photos, snacking on street food, or purchasing coal-roasted corn from roadside vendors.
