Chris Gotterup’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed, and Dan Rapaport has been talking about his chances of making the Ryder Cup team. Speaking on the ‘Dan on Golf’ podcast, he said: “Some of the guys who we talked about being absolute locks to be on the Ryder Cup and there are two who jump to mind, one of them is Collin Morikawa and one of them is Patrick Cantlay. “I still think Collin is a lock. I think Collin has earned it with his two major wins and he has had two seconds this year. “He is going through a bit of a rough patch but I think of Collin in a different category than I think of Cantlay. I am officially demoting Cantlay away from being a lock on the Ryder Cup team. “He finished tied for 36th at The Masters, he finished right in the middle of the pack, and making the cut at The Masters is not really an accomplishment when you have all the amateurs and the past champions. “He has missed the cut in the next three majors. I know he has been solid, he has been an ATM once again in the non-majors and signature events, but you can’t keep laying eggs in big tournaments and expect us just to not care. “And Chris Gotterup if you look at his results recently, he has got another win this summer which was earlier this summer.” The 25-year-old will turn 26 next week as he looks to continue his strong campaign during this period where so many players will be eager to catch Bradley’s attention.
