Con O'Callaghan has been named captain for the Dublin senior footballers for the 2025 Championship.
The Cuala man will lead his teammates out this weekend when the Dubs get their Leinster campaign off an running against Wicklow in Aughrim as they plot their course to a seemingly inevitable 14th Delaney Cup in a row.
O'Callaghan had previously held the role of vice-captain for the last four seasons but steps up to the top leadership position following James McCarthy's retirement. Ciarán Kilkenny will take over as vice-captain.
Star forward O'Callaghan made his Dublin debut in 2016 and has gone on to become a legend for the Dubs in the nine years since, winning the Leinster title in each season of his intercounty along with six All-Ireland titles and three All-Stars as an individual.
O'Callaghan came into 2025 off the back of a fantastic season at club level where he led Cuala to their first ever All-Ireland win, for which he was named club player of the year a fortnight ago.
