Conor McGregor told 'not a hope in hell' of him becoming Irish president

Conor McGregor has been told there's 'not a hope in hell' of him becoming Irish president.
The Dubliner is adamant that he will run for Áras an Uachtaráin later this year, despite it looking 'almost impossible' for him to get nominated, never mind elected.
Sky News have released findings of a survey they conducted with 104 TDs and 30 senators.
Among the responses were comments which ranged from "not a hope in hell" to "I could not think of anyone more unfit" and "I would genuinely rather we didn't have a president at all".
To run for the presidency, McGregor would need to either be nominated by at least 20 members of the Oireachtas (TDs or Senators) or by at least four local authorities (county or city councils), both of which look highly unlikely to happen.
Among those to respond to the survey was Fianna Fail TD Cathal Crowe, who said: "There isn't a snowball's chance… he made a show of himself in Washington DC last week and with no elected mandate he certainly does not "speak for Irish people" when he travels overseas.
Duncan Smith, Labour TD added: "I could not think of anyone more unfit for public office."
Garret Ahearn, Fine Gael senator commented: "I genuinely would struggle to think of anyone worse to hold that position."
