Coronation Street shooting horror leaves unexpected character fighting for life
@Source: mirror.co.uk
A devastating shooting on Coronation Street has left one surprising character left injured and fighting for their life. It was confirmed in spoilers last week that Rob Donovan would take some Weatherfield residents hostage, and armed police would swarm the cobbles. Rob's sister Carla Connor and ex Tracy Barlow were the two initially held captive by killer Rob, before it emerged Carla's girlfriend Lisa Swain would get caught up in the drama too. Monday night's episode of the ITV soap was moved to Tuesday evening, with it set to air at 8PM on ITV1. But as usual, the episode has dropped early on ITVX with fans stunned after finding out who has been shot and who might die. Spoilers for the fallout tease an anxious wait for news as the relatives of the victim remain at the hospital. But what happened and who was shot? It was certainly a tense episode, as Rob threatened his own sister and prepared to kill her, only for Lisa to enter the house - as revealed recently in a preview. WARNING, the rest of this article will contain spoilers about Tuesday's episode now on ITVX. Details of the victim will be further down, but if you're avoiding any spoilers look away now. The episode revealed that Carla helped Tracy to flee with a fake claim about painkillers, as injured Rob deteriorated. Refusing medical help knowing he'd be sent back to prison after his recent escape, Carla took action. She encouraged Tracy to pretend to look for painkillers when in fact she reminded of her where the spare key to the back door was. With that Tracy fled, but Rob turned on Carla and waved the gun in her face. It's then that Lisa arrived and both women were left panicked as Rob erratically waved the gun around once more. Things came to a head though as Lisa was able to steal the gun from Rob before pointing it at him. But with Lisa unable to pull the trigger Rob took his moment and a scuffle took place. As the pair fought to get control of the gun it fired, leaving everyone outside terrified over who the victim would be. As the police then stormed into the Barlows' home where the hostage situation was unfolding, we learned both Carla and Lisa were okay and had not been shot. We then saw Rob led away as he too avoided taking a bullet. It was then in horrifying scenes that the true victim was revealed, and it was quite a surprise. The gun had claimed a victim outside of the house, with one teenager seen seriously injured with officers surrounding them. As Lisa realised what was going on she raced out as the call came in over an officer's radio that a young female needed urgent attention. It was then that the camera panned to Lisa's teenaged daughter Betsy lying wounded on the floor - but will she be okay? Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
