Max Turner (Paddy Bever) left Coronation Street for the slammer after being sentenced to a lengthy stretch behind bars for arson. The troubled teen set fire to the family home in the hope that the insurance would would cover the debts David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) owed Harvey Gaskell. With the evidence mounting up against him, Max eventually decided to come clean, and handed himself into the police. In court, Max was sentenced to six and a half years of prison time.
