Coronation Street's David Platt 'in bad way' as death fears continue in fresh attack

David Platt is set to be left in a 'bad way' as his death could still be on the cards in Coronation Street. Fans of the ITV soap feared they were losing the Weatherfield legend earlier this month. It's fair to day that the hairdresser has been making questionable decisions in a bid to protect his family ever since it was discovered he had stolen money which belonged to gangster Harvey Gaksell to help buy his beloved family home from his mum, Gail, as she left the Street after 50 years. Fast forward to earlier this month, after it was clear David and his family were being targeted by Harvey from behind bars, the youngest of Gail's children was seen deciding to take drastic action. Before making a decision to end his own life, David was confronted by former prison mate Andy Garland, who he had been doing criminal jobs for, when he pulled out a knife and said Harvey wanted him dead for his life insurance pay-out. David, who had earlier been in court where his stepson Max Turner was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for arson after he set alight No.8 Coronation Street in a botched insurance job, managed to see Andy off without causing any damage. After taking some time to think, David called Andy back to the salon and asked him to take his life as it was the only way to keep his family safe, before planning for Andy to run him over with a car in the middle of the Street. When David's plan played out, he was seen spending time writing notes to his family and talking to his grandmother Audrey Roberts, with his inner monologue heard throughout as he counted down to 2pm, the moment he planned for Andy to plough into him in the middle of the street. When the final moments began, David stood in the middle of the road. A car then came hurtling at speed, and Shona watched in horror as David was ploughed in to, with Daisy Midgeley caught in the crossfire and she has since lost her unborn child. Now, after the dramatic death plot, actor Jack P Shepherd has revealed his beloved character isn't out of the woods just yet. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, he spoke of David's interaction with DC Kit Green, who was the father of Daisy's baby. "He thinks he’s going to get arrested," Jack explained. "It could be a lot of things he could be getting arrested for. So, Kit’s there, and he’s like, 'Look, I am sorry. If I could switch places, I would'. Kit’s almost a little bit p***ed off with this. I think he wanted David to beg, like, 'Please no, please no.'" He continued: "He gets to the police station and then he changes his mind, and David is almost accepting that he will go to prison for this." But all is not as it seems. With David in his car, Jack went on: "When Kit drives off, he’s like, 'What are we doing? Where are we going?' "And then when he turns up to this warehouse, and he starts beating him up, punching him and everything. And, yeah, David’s… he’s in a bit of a bad way, actually." But Jack doesn't want to give too much away about what's next for David. "I like the unpredictability," he said. "I don't like telling fans anything."
