Indore: A celebratory rally in Indore's Mhow, turned chaotic on Sunday as clashes broke out between two groups, leaving the residents in panic in its wake. According to reports, the rally, organised by young cricket enthusiasts, was meant to celebrate India's ICC Champions Trophy final victory against New Zealand. However, another group of people interrupted the celebrations and clashed with the cricket lovers, which allegedly led to stone-pelting and arson. On information, the police teams from nearby police stations and para-military force rushed to the spot and brought the violent situation under control.According to eyewitnesses, the trouble began when a dispute broke out between two groups during the rally. The situation quickly escalated, with stone pelting and arson reported in multiple areas of the town. As the dispute escalated, the unruly mob destroyed shops and damaged vehicles, and a few were set on fire. Superintendent of Police (SP, Indore Rural) Hitika Wasal reached Mhow to assess the circumstances firsthand and take necessary measures to restore law and order.
