Daifuku Intralogistics India, a subsidiary of Japanese multinational Daifuku Co, on Monday (April 21, 2025) opened its ₹227-crore manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
As a vital step in Daifuku’s India growth strategy, the facility is designed to meet the growing demand for automation across industries, including e-commerce, retail, automotive, pharmaceutical and FMCG, it said in a release.
Manufacturing and distribution systems, automated storage and retrieval systems and conveyors and sorters, will be the focus product lines at the facility.
The facility will generate over 100 skilled jobs initially in engineering, automation and production. It will deliver future-ready intralogistics solutions tailored to India’s needs, Daifuku Intralogistics India CEO Asim Behera said.
As India’s logistics and warehousing sector is projected to exceed $650 billion by 2030, automation will be a key enabler for efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness. The company’s new Hyderabad facility is designed to drive this transformation through advanced automation technologies, digital tools, and environmentally friendly practices, Daifuku said.
The company also plans to collaborate with leading Indian technical institutes, launch local research and development initiatives and promote sustainable automation practices to reduce environmental impact across customer operations.
“India stands as one of our most strategic global markets and this facility underscores our deep confidence in its vibrant growth story and potential,” Daifuku Co CEO Hiroshi Geshiro said.
Chairman of Daifuku Intralogistics India Srinivas Garimella said the facility embodies the strong partnership between India and Japan.
