The Dallas Stars could send seven players to Milan 2026, but one young talent may miss out on the biggest stage The Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo are only months away, and hockey fans are already buzzing about which NHL stars will make their countries' rosters. For the Dallas Stars, it looks like a strong showing of international representation. Between the "Finnish Mafia," a pair of American standouts, and a rising Canadian defenseman, Dallas could have as many as seven players wearing th eir national colors. But not everyone will get the call. Finland will showcase the Dallas Stars' "Finnish Mafia" When people think of the Stars' international presence, Finland always comes up first. Miro Heiskanen, already regarded as one of the league's best all-around defensemen, will be a lock for the blue line. Esa Lindell, the steady veteran and original "Finnish Mafia" member, is also expected to join him. Up front, Mikko Rantanen will represent Finland after cementing his reputation as a superstar since joining Dallas from Colorado. Roope Hintz, despite battling injuries last year, is healthy now and remains one of Finland's top cen ters. That makes four Stars suiting up for the Finns. Team USA will feature Jason Robertson and Jake Oettinger The Stars will also be represented by two key players on Team USA. Jake Oettinger is in the mix for the starting goalie job, competing directly with Connor Hellebuyck. Their rivalry has become one of the most compelling storylines in American hockey. At forward, Jason Robertson is a safe bet for a roster spot. Despite recent contract drama, Robertson's scoring consistency and playoff impact make him one of the faces of USA Hoc key heading into Milan. Canada likely adds Thomas Harley, but not Wyatt Johnston For Team Canada, Thomas Harley should be a lock after impressing at the Four Nations Faceoff. His size, skating, and two-way ability earned him attention, and his dual citizenship ensures he'll be part of the Canadian group in February. That leaves Wyatt Johnston as the odd man out. While he's talented enough to make nearly any other Olympic roster, Canada's forward depth is overwhelming. Unless he earns an emergency call-up, Johnston will spend February resting in Dallas before returning for the Stars' playoff push. The Stars' presence in Milan underscores just how deep their roster is right now. From the Finnish core to rising Canadian and American talents, Dallas will have its fingerprints all over the Olympic stage. I think it's exciting to see so many Stars players gaining global recognition, even if it stings that Johnston might have to wait until 2030 for his Olympic debut.
