Danny Jones' I'm A Celeb co-star Melvin Odoom found himself in a tricky spot as he was quizzed about the alleged "kiss" with Maura Higgins live on Good Morning Britain.
Filling in for Richard Arnold as entertainment editor on Monday (March 17) morning, Melvin had a chat with hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley about the latest buzz from the showbiz world.
Susanna kicked off the conversation, according to the Manchester Evening News, by pointing out: "Two of your campmates are front page news." To which Melvin simply replied: "Yes."
The Daily Record reports, Susanna continued: "Married pop star Danny Jones, former Love Islander Maura Higgins. Caught on camera last week. This morning, Danny's wife, this is according to the The Sun, has moved out of her home with Danny Jones and is staying with friends."
She added added: "I find these stories very awkward." Melvin chimed in: "First of all, you guys don't hold hold back. Straight in with the hard stories." For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
The GMB host responded: "Do you know what, it's on the front of The Sun this morning and this has been developing over the last couple of days. It's obviously a private matter for them. You were in the jungle with Danny and Maura."
Melvin shared about the bond formed during their time in the jungle, revealing: "The things is we've all got a WhatsApp group, we all got on in the jungle. The other day was Danny's birthday and we all wished him a happy birthday."
When asked about the incident, he said: "In regards to this story it's not my business and that's it. That's all I'll say on that. I got on with everyone in there and I wish them all the best."
Susanna quickly changed the subject. According to The Sun, following the alleged kiss with Maura, Danny's wife Georgia has left their family home to stay with a friend.
A source revealed: "They're not together and she is working out what she wants to do."
In a recent development, Danny made a heartfelt public apology to Georgia and his family, stating: "Sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
"I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately."
