The Barstool Sports founder says Beckham was out getting some pizza with his sons when he bumped into him at a restaurant on Wednesday, although wife Victoria was not with them. 'A little humble brag. I had dinner last night, David Beckham is in there,' Portnoy said on Barstool's The Unnamed Show. '[He] comes up, he's like, "Great to see you Dave." David Beckham. 'That's like when [Wayne] Gretzky asked for my picture.' While it is unclear where exactly they crossed paths, Portnoy shared videos from two different pizza joints in Chicago on Wednesday, meaning Beckham was most likely in the Illinois city too. 'I was like, "Great to see ya," [and gave him a] hug,' he continued. 'I met him once before, but I wasn't gonna say hello to him, because I was very much like [to myself] who are you?' Beckham, who played in MLS with LA Galaxy during his iconic career, is now a club owner after launching expansion team Inter Miami back in 2020. Three years later his franchise added one of the greatest players of all time to its roster when Lionel Messi arrived from Paris St-Germain, before his former Barcelona teammates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba soon followed. Earlier this month, Messi and his star Miami teammates all attended Beckham's 50th birthday party in the Florida city. The Inter co-owner stood for a picture with all four players before wife Victoria joined him in posing for a separate one with Messi, Suarez and their wives. David was laughing out loud as they posed with Leo, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, Luis and his wife Sofia Balbi. The England soccer legend may well have been in Chicago when they ran into each other The former England soccer captain, who doesn't actually turn 50 until May 2, posted several pictures from the bash at the Cipriani Downtown Miami. Among them was a picture with Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion and NFL legend, and basketball great Shaquille O'Neal. Brady, 47, and Shaq, 53, who stand at 6ft4 and 7ft1 respectively, both towered over 5ft11 Beckham as they stood together for the picture. He took the sizeable height difference in good spirits though, posting 'I'm so small' alongside the picture on his Instagram story.
