Dawn, Geo News, Shoaib Akhtar's ‘100mph’ Among Pakistani YouTube Channels Banned In India Post-Pahalgam
@Source: news18.com
In yet another move against Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian government has banned several Pakistani YouTube channels, including that of former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, in the country. The online streaming of several top news channels of the country has also been banned, including Dawn News, ARY News, Samaa TV, and Geo News. Why A Ban On Pakistani YouTube Channels In India? The latest step against Pakistan was taken on the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which said that the Pakistani YouTube channels were “disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies” after the Pahalgam terror attack. This comes as part of a series of non-military actions that the government has taken so far against Pakistan, following the Pahalgam attack on April 22 that killed 26 people and left several others injured. “This content is currently unavailable in this country because of an order from the government related to national security or public order. For more details about government removal requests, please visit the Google Transparency Report (transparencyreport.google.com),” the message read on YouTube upon opening either of these banned YouTube channels. Pakistan, in turn, suspended the Simla Agreement and snapped all bilateral pacts with India.
