Delhi Capitals vs Lucknow Super Giants IPL 2025, Probable Playing XI, Impact Players, and Tactical Matchups: Delhi Capitals will face Lucknow Super Giants in the fourth match of IPL 2025 on Monday (March 24). The high-voltage match between the present and former teams of star Indian wicketkeeper-batters Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul is scheduled to take place at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam from 7:30 PM IST onwards. Both Pant and Rahul will be eager to come up with a big show against their former teams and help their present side make a winning start in the new season.
LSG’s likely playing XI
Australia’s T20I captain Mitchell Marsh is all set to open the innings for LSG in IPL 2025 along with South Africa’s T20I captain Aiden Markram. The two are also capable of contributing with the ball as well. Rishabh Pant could be seen batting at No. 3 for LSG in IPL this year like he did for India in T20 World Cup 2024 and for the No. 4. LSG will bank on the experience of Nicholas Pooran, who was retained for Rs 21 crore by the Lucknow-based franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Uncapped Indian batter Ayush Badoni, South Africa’s David Miller and Bengal all-rounder Shahbaz Ahamad will be key players for LSG in the middle order.
Shardul Thakur, who replaced Mohsin Khan in LSG’s IPL 2025 squad on Sunday, could feature in the match against his former franchise Delhi Capitals and will have Akash Deep and Akash Singh for support in the fast bowling. Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan are dealing with fitness-related issues these days, whereas LSG’s Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of IPL 2025.
The onus of LSG’s spin bowling will rely on the shoulders of Ravi Bishnoi, who has been associated with the franchise since the 2022 season.
LSG’s provable playing XI: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, David Miller, Shahbaz Ahamad, Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, Ravi Bishnoi, Akash Singh
Impact players: M. Siddharth/Abdul Samad
DC’s likely playing XI
Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, after a breakthrough season last year, is all set to open the innings for Delhi Capitals along with former South Africa and RCB captain Faf du Plessis. DC signed Faf for Rs 2 crore in the mega auction last year, and he has been appointed as the team’s new vice-captain. Bengal keeper-batter Abhishek Sharma is set to continue at No. 3, followed by Rahul at 4 and South African Tristan Stubbs at 5.
Captain Axar Patel could be seen batting at No. 6, and one of Sameer Rizvi or Ashutosh Sharma will be the team’s designated finisher at No. 7. Australian speedster Mitchell Starc will lead DC’s bowling attack against LSG and have Mukesh Kumar and T Natarajan for support. Kuldeep Yadav is DC’s specialist spin bowler, and for the impact player, the team management could consider including Mohit Sharma or Karun Nair in the playing XI depending on the match situation and need of the hour.
DC’s probable playing XI: Jake Fraser McGurk, Faf du Plessis, Abhishek Porel, KL Rahul (WK), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel (C), Ashutosh Sharma, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, T Natarajan
Impact players: Mohit Sharma/Karun Nair.
