New Delhi: Commuters in South Delhi are advised to brace for traffic diversions and delays this Sunday, 10 August 2025, as the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT, organises the ‘Tiranga Run’. The event will begin at 6:00 am from Thyagraj Stadium, winding its way through designated roads before concluding at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. Authorities have announced special arrangements to ensure the smooth movement of participants and minimal disruption to traffic, though certain stretches will face diversions and restrictions. Delhi Traffic: Special Diversion PointsUnder Safdarjung Airport Flyover Red Light: Vehicles from Sarojini Nagar via Jagannath Marg heading to Thyagraj Stadium will be diverted to Aurobindo Marg. INA Metro Station T-Point on Aurobindo Marg: Traffic bound for Gujjar Chowk via Chandu Lal Valmiki Marg will be restricted. Motorists should use Ring Road via AIIMS Loop or continue straight on Aurobindo Marg. 2nd Avenue–Jor Bagh Crossing: Vehicles from Jor Bagh towards 4th Avenue Road will be diverted at 2nd Avenue–Jor Bagh crossing. Delhi Traffic Advisory: Affected Roads (6:00 am to 9:00 am)Jagannath Marg Chandu Lal Valmiki Marg 4th Avenue Road Lodhi Road Traffic on these roads is expected to be heavy, and the public is advised to avoid them during the event window. Emergency VehiclesPolice, ambulance, fire brigade, and other emergency services will retain unrestricted access despite diversions. However, they are urged to avoid affected stretches to prevent delays. Instructions for Commuters If travelling to railway stations, airports, hospitals, or other time-sensitive destinations, plan your departure well in advance. Use alternate routes wherever possible. Follow all traffic diversions and cooperate with police personnel for a smoother journey. Allow extra travel time to account for possible delays.
