Soaring temperatures across the Front Range brought the first 100-degree day of the year in Denver and tied the daily record high at Denver International Airport, according to the National Weather Service.
DIA weather sensors recorded 100 degrees at 3:53 p.m., tying the daily record high for July 9 last set in 2022, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures dipped slightly to 98 degrees by 4:53 p.m., which means the city may fall short of the record-breaking 101 degree forecast.
The weather should cool to the low 90s on Thursday and into the mid-80s with a chance of thunderstorms on Friday, forecasters said.
