Derek McInnes teases Hearts manager update as Kilmarnock boss names exactly when he will break silence
@Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Derek McInnes says he's happy to address speculation linking him with the vacant Hearts job - but only AFTER Kilmarnock's clash with Dundee. The Killie boss has been reported as the front runner to replace Neil Critchley at Tynecastle since he was sacked after losing at home to the Dark Blues two weeks ago. McInnes is hoping to avoid a similar result at Rugby Park, where a win will virtually secure the Ayrshire club's top flight safety, keeping them at least seven six clear of Ross County in the playoff position with two games to play. And before his pre-match BBC Scotland interview, McInnes warned that there would nothing for him to say about the Hearts job until after the game. The Tynecastle board were due to meet today to whittle down their options for the hot seat ahead of a home game against Motherwell. Three points at Dingwall last weekend meant the Jambos could realistically stop looking over their shoulder in terms of the potential to finish 11th. And McInnes' message will only ramp up speculation that he is set to take the reins at Tynecastle should Kilmarnock make themselves safe this afternoon.
