Derek McInnes wants Stuart Findlay to Hearts transfer as incoming boss targets key Kilmarnock lieutenant
@Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Incoming Hearts boss Derek McInnes wants to make Stuart Findlay one of his first summer signings. The Scotland international has been a key figure for McInnes at Kilmarnock for the past two seasons. The 29-year-old has been on-loan at Killie from Oxford United. Findlay is due to return to the English Championship side, where he will go into the final year of his contract there. McInnes is keen to see if a deal can be done to bring the central defender to Tynecastle. Hearts do a lot of their recruitment via Jamestown Analytics but McInnes will also have a major say. Findlay is proven in the Premiership and has been a key performer for Kilmarnock that will all strengthen McInnes' case. The stopper is due to face Hearts on Sunday when Killie bring down the curtain on their Premiership season. McInnes will move to Hearts at the end of the season. He has taken the decision to step down and not take Killie against the Jambos because of the situation. Paul Clark and Chris Burke have been put in interim charge of the Rugby Park side. His dugout absence this weekend comes as Del gets ready to get down to business in the capital from the very first day as we revealed earlier that he is set to hold a heart-to-heart with Lawrence Shankland over his future. Record Sport understands the out of contract skipper is his top priority from day one in the job as he looks to launch a charm offensive and persuade him to remain in Gorgie. The duo have a close bond from previously working together and the new boss intends to build his Jambos side around the talismanic skipper.
