@Source: news18.com
MS Dhoni had the social media buzzing late Monday night following his match-winning performance for the Chennai Super Kings against Lucknow Super Giants in an IPL 2025 match. The home team was LSG, but it seems the fans came to watch Dhoni as was evident from the yellow jerseys and banners declaring love for the CSK franchise and their legendary captain. The fans weren’t disappointed. Dhoni delivered. He first was involved in the dismissal of three key LSG batters including captain Rishabh Pant, Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad. And then with the bat, he produced a typical Dhoni innings studded with four fours and a six as the visitors won by five wickets to snap their five-match losing streak. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 26 off 11 and former cricketers along with fans took to X (formerly Twitter) expressing their joy at the 43-year-old’s excellent performance. Dhoni proves once again why he’s called Thala- not just for his performance, but for the calm, commanding way he led his troops. CSK were set a target of 167 by LSG at the Ekana Cricket Stadium which they overhauled in the 20th over with five wickets and three deliveries to spare. The win was their second of IPL 2025 and they are currently 10th in the standings. CSK next face Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium this Sunday. This will be their second meeting of the season after CSK defeated their rivals by four wickets last month to kickstart their campaign on a winning note before slumping to five defeats in a row.
