Doubt Looms On PBKS-DC Dharamsala Match As HPCA Waits On Govt. Advisory: Sources
@Source: news18.com
Officials in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) are tentatively waiting on the local government’s advisory regarding the Punjab Kings (PBKS)’s IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals (DC) scheduled for Thursday (May 8) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Board sources have told News 18 CricketNext that as of 5 pm IST on Wednesday, the match is ‘on schedule’ but that can change if the government advises otherwise in the coming hours. The sources add that the local government has been involved in meetings for a while and should be sharing an update on the issue soon.
This website had earlier reported that the match between PBKS and Mumbai Indians, scheduled for May 11 here, has been moved to Mumbai (either DY Patil Stadium or Brabourne Stadium will host it) due to security concerns in Dharamsala in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor.
The city is only around 60 kilometres from the national border with Pakistan, and is on high alert after India launched precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.
