Dubious Dead By Daylight rumor claims another beloved license is leaving The Fog despite new content coming soon
@Source: videogamer.com
Dead By Daylight has collaborated with dozens of famous IPs from the world of movies, television, and video games. The Walking Dead is the newest collaboration, and BeHaviour has revealed the perks for Rick Grimes and Michonne ahead of the July 29th full release date. While DBD has been treated to a lot of great crossovers, unfortunately, some licenses have been removed due to contract expirations. Pinhead recently left in April, and now a very dubious Dead By Daylight rumor claims another beloved license is leaving The Fog despite new content coming soon. Dead By Daylight rumor claims Tomb Raider is leaving The Fog On the Tomb Raider subreddit, a Discord message was shared claiming Lara Croft is set to leave The Fog. The Discord screenshot claims the “leak comes from a reliable source – specifically someone who was affected by layoffs at BeHaviour Interactive”. BeHaviour Interactive’s most recent layoffs included 95 people in June 2024, so that’s presumably what’s being referred. Further on, the alleged leak says, “Lara Croft will be leaving the Fog, as the license between BeHaviour Interactive and Crystal Dynamics will not be renewed”. There’s further claims that the collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and BeHaviour was never smooth as “evident in the minimal promotion Lara received compared to other licensed survivors and the limited post-launch content”. Lara Croft has two outfits on the way that were revealed at PAX EAST 2025. They are coming out on August 5th, and they include the unification outfit for the in-development TR12, meanwhile, the second outfit hasn’t been revealed yet. The alleged leak claims “the two upcoming outfits are the final content,” while also claiming “Originally, there were plans for several more cosmetics” such as a “winter sweater, Lara’s Angel of Darkness outfit (which also appears in Fortnite), the “Legend” outfit, and another outfit tied to a Dead By Daylight event”. Lastly, the leak claims the upcoming removal of Lara Croft “fits with Crystal Dynamics’ recent pattern of pulling back from external collaborations,” citing the recent cancellation of the Tomb Raider Shadows of Truth tabletop RPG, that was legitimately cancelled over “creative differences”. As for when Lara will leave The Fog, it’s claimed there’s “no exact date, but an announcement about the license is expected by the end of 2025”. Tomb Raider possibly leaving Dead by Daylight? Thoughts? byu/CreepyClown inLeaksDBD This is a very dubious leak that has also been shared on LeaksDBD. Mods for LeaksDBD report that the “OP agreed to send proof of the claims, [but] the proof was lacking credibility as it was just a photo of a censored group chat repeating the info in the post”. As for where it originates from, it seems to come from a Reddit user called Repulsivedot-4547, who only has one post and one comment, both pertaining to the rumor Lara Croft is leaving Dead By Daylight. This alleged leak doesn’t come from a reliable source such as Wazzup, so it should be treated with a massive grain of salt. It seems very unlikely Tomb Raider will leave The Fog as, while it’s true a Tomb Raider tabletop RPG was cancelled, it’s not true at all that Crystal Dynamics are “pulling back from external collaborations”. In just 2024 alone, Lara Croft has appeared in Fortnite again, has appeared in Pinball FX, and is coming to World of Tanks. It would be a huge shame if Lara were to leave The Fog as Tomb Raider is one of the most popular franchises, and Lara remains one of the most-played survivors. It’s not impossible for the contract to expire and not receive a renewal, but it seems unlikely, at least based off this alleged leak.
