Dwyane Wade on Jayson Tatum Despite being arguably the best player for the reigning champions of the NBA, Tatum has been brutally criticized since last summer. Be it being restricted to limited minutes on Team USA during the Paris Olympics or not receiving his flowers as one of the best players in the NBA this season. D-Wade believes this has lit a fire under JT ahead of the postseason. “One of the worst things that happened to the league was Jayson Tatum was ___ed on a little bit, a whole lotta bit. Normally when you win the championship, flowers, you can relax, get my head down.” Tatum is currently averaging 26.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game while shooting an impressive 45.2% from the field and a solid 34.4% from the three-point line. Wade thinks Tatum has a ‘chip on his shoulder’ Even with sensational numbers and leading his team to the second seed in the Eastern Conference, Tatum has been heavily criticized by media and fans alike. Wade was surprised with his as Tatum has already shown that he knows how to win it all. Keeping that in mind, the Miami Heat legend wished ‘good luck’ to the rest of the NBA. “He wasn’t granted that, he coming back with a chip. That’s tough, when a guy who knows how to win, who has done it before, with a chip on his shoulder, good luck.” Tatum gave a preview of Wade’s assessment when he hit a cold-blooded three-point shot to tie things up in the fourth quarter against the Knicks. Overall, Tatum’s 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in 48 minutes helped the Celtics register an impressive 119-117 OT win.
