Captain Shakeel Dyte leads a battle-ready Trinidad and Tobago squad into the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Men’s XV final, where they’ll take on host nation Mexico in a high-stakes clash tomorrow at the Roberto Tapatío Méndez Practice Stadium. Kick-off is set for 12 noon.
With head coach Dale Trotman at the helm, Dyte and his 22 team-mates are eyeing regional supremacy in what promises to be an electrifying face-off against Las Serpientes.
The Calypso Warriors earned their ticket to the final after a heart-stopping 29–28 home victory over fierce rivals Barbados in the South Zone semi-final, held on May 31 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella. That narrow win secured T&T the top seed in the South.
Mexico, meanwhile, punched their ticket earlier in May, defeating Jamaica 37–22 in the North Zone semi-final in Mexico City. The finalists were determined based on 2024 performances, with the top two teams from each zone advancing to the knockout stage.
