Eagles sign another rookie draft pick; three remain unsigned
@Source: nj.com
The Eagles have signed defensive tackle Ty Robinson, the team’s fourth-round pick in last month’s draft. Robinson, who spent six years playing for the Cornhuskers while also pursuing a pre-med degree, was the ninth player taken in the fourth round and the third player taken by the Eagles. BUY EAGLES TICKETS: STUBHUB, VIVID SEATS, TICKETMASTER As the 111th pick, he will receive a four-year deal worth $5.234 million, according to Spotrac.com’s rookie slotting scale. Robinson, 24, posted 12 sacks during his career at Nebraska, including seven last season. With the departure of free agent Milton Williams, he will likely move into the team’s defensive tackle rotation as a rookie, joining the quartet of Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo and Thomas Booker. The Eagles could also give the 6-foot-5, 288-pound Robinson some snaps as a fullback in short-yardage and goal line situations. He played that role last season at Nebraska and had great success as a lead blocker. Robinson became the Eagles’ seventh pick to sign since last month’s draft. He joined fifth-round picks Smael Mondon, a linebacker from Georgia, Mac McWilliams, a cornerback from Central Florida and Drew Kendall, an interior offensive lineman from Boston College. The Eagles have also signed their three sixth-round picks: Kyle McCord, a quarterback from Syracuse, Myles Hinton, an offensive tackle from Michigan, and Antwaun Powell-Ryland, an edge rusher from Viriginia Tech. The three draft picks still unsigned are Jihaad Campbell, the team’s first-round pick from Alabama, safety Drew Mukuba, the second-round pick from Texas and offensive tackle Cameron Williams, a sixth-round pick from Texas.
