Cairo, August 13 (QNA) - Egypt Wednesday expressed its condemnation of reports in some Israeli media outlets regarding the so-called Greater Israel, noting that it has requested clarifications in light of the destabilizing implications and the rejection of the peace option in the region, as well as the insistence on escalation.
In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that such rhetoric also contradicts the aspirations of regional and international parties that seek peace and aim to achieve security and stability for all peoples of the region, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to establishing peace in the Middle East.
The ministry stressed that peace can only be achieved through a return to negotiations and an end to the war on Gaza, leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
