Cairo, June 21 (QNA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed, in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian, his country's complete rejection of the ongoing Israeli escalation against Iran, which poses a serious threat to the security and stability of the Middle East, warning that it comes at a particularly critical and turbulent time for the region. El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's call for an immediate ceasefire and for negotiations to resume to find a sustainable and peaceful resolution to the crisis. He underlined the importance of de-escalation and preventing further violence. There is no military solution, El-Sisi said, reaffirming his position that lasting regional stability can only be achieved through a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, in line with international legitimacy. For his part, the Iranian President stressed his country agreement with Egypt's stance on the urgent need for a just, comprehensive and final resolution to the Palestinian cause. (QNA)
