Former Emmerdale star Jurell Carter has dropped some hints about what really happened to his character Nate Robinson, leaving viewers on tenterhooks. Jurell, 33, portrayed Nate on the popular ITV soap from 2019 until his exit last year. His character was believed to have left the village for a new job, but fans were sceptical as they didn't actually see him depart. Since then, attempts by loved ones like Tracy Metcalfe (played by Amy Walsh) to reach Nate have been unsuccessful. However, things took a turn last month when a body was spotted in a lake by Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) after the fatal limo crash. In a tragic twist before her death following the crash, Amy tried to tell her husband Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) that she had seen Nate under the water, but he misunderstood her. This has led to rampant speculation about what happened to Nate, with several suspects already identified in his apparent murder, reports the Mirror. While promoting his role in the play Boys from the Blackstuff, Jurell spoke to Digital Spy and hinted that he knew about Nate's fate months ago. He expressed excitement over fans finally discovering the truth. When asked if he knows who killed Nate, the actor confirmed: "Yes, I know." He quickly added that he "wouldn't say anything" as it adds more suspense to the storyline. He said: "When the unravelling does come about, it's just going to be massive." He hinted that it's "amazing," and believes viewers will be "gripped to their seats". Jurell revealed: "Basically, I was told a little while beforehand about the plan for Nate." He remembered having a meeting with producer Sophie Roper and being informed about the storylines linked to his exit, which gave him "goosebumps". Further hinting at what's to come, he said: "This is just the start of the unravelling." He confirmed that it was indeed Nate who Amy had spotted beneath the frozen lake after she fell into the water. Jurell expressed that he's "really excited" for fans to discover what happened to his character on the show. During the chat, Jurell also shared with the outlet that knowing it was the end for his character was "sad" but it also motivated him "more reason just to go full force to the pedal" with projects outside of Emmerdale. He hinted that realising there was "no option" for a "potential return" made him think that he needed to go "full steam ahead" with other roles.
