A former Arsenal skipper stole the show as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Al Nassr's title hopes in the Saudi Pro League suffered a crushing blow after a shock defeat.
Al Nassr’s Saudi Pro League title hopes suffered a major setback on Friday night as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang inspired Al Qadsiah to a dramatic 2-1 victory, overshadowing Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane in Khobar.
Al Qadsiah, led by former Arsenal captain Aubameyang, started brightly at the Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium and took a deserved lead in the first half.

After Aubameyang’s initial effort was parried by Al Nassr’s goalkeeper, Turki Al-Ammar pounced on the rebound to put the hosts ahead before the break.
Despite enjoying more possession, Al Nassr struggled to break down Al Qadsiah’s organised defence.
Cristiano Ronaldo, largely kept quiet throughout the match, failed to make a significant impact as Al Nassr’s attack was repeatedly frustrated.
The visitors finally found a lifeline in the 84th minute when Sadio Mane latched onto a clever ball from Otavio and slotted home the equaliser, seemingly rescuing a point for Al Nassr.
But just three minutes later, Aubameyang delivered the decisive blow. The Gabonese striker finished off a swift move in the 87th minute, restoring Al Qadsiah’s lead and sealing all three points for the home side.
The defeat ends Al Nassr’s six-game unbeaten run and leaves them eight points behind league leaders Al Ittihad, who had dropped points just 24 hours earlier.
The result also tightens the race for AFC Champions League qualification, with Al Qadsiah now just two points behind Al Nassr in the standings.
For Ronaldo and Mane, the night ended in heartbreak, while Aubameyang’s late heroics ensured he was the undisputed star of the show
Also, for Ronaldo, the setback is twofold: not only does it dent his quest for a 1000th career goal, but it also threatens his chances of lifting his first Saudi Pro League trophy since joining Al Nassr.
The pressure is now firmly on Al Nassr to regroup and hope for a dramatic turnaround in the final weeks of the campaign.
