At the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, held at the Union's headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia is seizing the opportunity to highlight its vast potentials. The summit, taking place in the Ethiopian capital, serves as a platform for the nation to showcase its resources and capabilities.
During a presidential dinner organized for the summit's delegates on Wednesday at the International Conference Center in Addis Ababa, a notable incident occurred involving a large poster displaying the map of the African continent. The poster, intended to feature each country's flag over its respective map, presented a controversial depiction of Morocco's borders.

The map controversially attributed significant portions of Morocco to Algeria : depicting the northern region of the country, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, as part of Algeria. Additionally, it annexed substantial areas of western and southwestern Morocco to Algeria.
Furthermore, the organizers placed the Polisario flag on the southern part of Morocco. This move aligns with Ethiopia's longstanding recognition of the Polisario's «Republic» since February 24, 1979.
As an emerging economic powerhouse in Africa, Ethiopia is leveraging this exhibition to demonstrate its strengths across various sectors, including agriculture, industry, mining, and tourism. The summit provides a strategic venue for Ethiopia to assert its position and attract attention to its developmental prospects.
