Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash sat down with the media ahead of the Champions League round of 16 second leg tie against Club Brugge. Villa have a two-goal lead after beating Brugge 3-1 at the Jan Breydel Stadium last week. Here is every word Cash said in the pre-match press conference... Are you looking forward to the atmosphere? "It is amazing. The atmosphere for night games is always really good. A Champions League night is doubly good. We have always felt comfortable at home. Last season we went on a long run where we didn’t lose for a long time. "The challenge has been to be more consistent away from home. We have to continue to be strong at home." What has Emery’s message been? "He has been consistent in his message. Us as players know that every team can be really hurtful. We have a two-goal lead, but on many occasions in the past, many teams have been leading in the first leg and then crash out in the second." What are you expecting from Brugge? "I think they are a good team and we know that because we played them before. There were chances in the game at 1-1 and it could have gone either way. I won the penalty so we won there 3-1. They are a fantastic team and they beat Atalanta before." Can you look forward to possibly winning something this season? "It’s always nice to be in March being in the Champions League and the latter rounds deep in the FA Cup . But as players it is hard to look forward. "It is cliche, but we don’t have time to think ahead. You have to think about your job and what is next. It is hard to look ahead." How have you responded to new competition at right-back? "It’s always nice to have competition, especially when you are in the Champions League and you have a lot of games. You have to have competition at the top level. Every top club has good competition. "I have had a few niggles which haven't been great, so I have been working to cut that out. Sometimes it’s just unfortunate. When you play you have to take your chance. When players fill in they have to do as well. We are all in the same boat." What have you done to prevent those injuries? "It’s hard because sometimes you feel good, but then you get a little fatigue at the high level. I have had a few niggles because when you play a lot of games, it just comes. "I do everything right, it’s not the fact that I’m not doing things right. I am doing double now as much as I can now to try and stay fit and stay in the team." Is this the strongest squad you have been part of at Villa? "Definitely. With all due respect to the squads we have had before, this is the best squad we have had in the years I have been here, for sure. "We are strong in every position, two really good players now in each. It is really important to have that all around the squad. To have that rotation is good." Do you feel like you are on the brink of achieving something this season? "It is exciting to be a Villa player and a fan. We are in the quarters of the FA Cup and Wembley would be a great day out. Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but we are excited about what we can achieve." What was Emery’s message when you came on in the first leg? "The manager says in those situations let’s just try and win the game. He doesn’t want to draw. He has a winning mentality, so it’s about doing everything to win. The message is clear to do everything you can to win."
