The five-time Super Lig champion has told Victor Osimhen's teammates to step up in the title race
Victor Osimhen has been in sensational form for Galatasaray, but former Besiktas and Galatasaray player Sergen Yalcın believes his teammates aren’t giving him enough support.

The Turkish coach has criticised wingers Barıs Yılmaz and Roland Sallai, accusing them of failing to provide the creativity needed to help Osimhen fire Galatasaray to the Super Lig title.
Yalcin calls out underperforming wingers
Despite Barıs Yılmaz scoring 10 goals in 24 league games, the winger has registered just one assist—a concerning tally for a player expected to supply service for Osimhen.
Meanwhile, summer signing Roland Sallai has struggled even more, contributing just one goal and zero assists in 19 appearances.
For Yalcın, these numbers are a major problem in Galatasaray’s attacking setup. The former Galatasaray and Besiktas midfielder, who won multiple league titles as both a player and manager, did not hold back in his criticism.
He told Sporx, “The right-wing, the left-wing—where are they? It was said that these are very talented players, but where are they? No, no! You asked what Galatasaray should do at half-time, and I said they need a proper winger.”
Reinforcements needed to unlock Osimhen’s full potential
Despite Galatasaray’s lack of creative wingers limiting Osimhen, the Super Eagles star has carried the attacking burden, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists in 28 appearances this season. However, with little support from the flanks, his job has been made much harder.
Yalcın urged Galatasaray’s hierarchy to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window. He insists that bringing in more dynamic, service-oriented wide players could help unlock Osimhen’s full potential and give the club a better chance of winning more league titles.
As the season nears its climax, the pressure is mounting on Galatasaray to fix their weaknesses and ensure that Osimhen’s brilliance doesn’t go to waste.
If Galatasaray want to fend off Fenerbahce, they’ll need more than just Osimhen to step up as their wingers must improve their output to ensure a successful title defence.
