Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) became the first team to qualify for the IPL 2025 final with a win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the first qualifier. It was a one-sided win for the Rajat Patidar-led side, who chased down the target of 102 in just 10 overs. RCB have qualified for an IPL final for the fourth time. PBKS, who made it to the playoffs after a long wait of 11 years, are still in the race to qualify for the final and they can face RCB in the summit clash on June 3. As the name suggests, eliminator is a game where the losing team gets eliminated while the winning team stays in the race. This fixture is played between the third and fourth-placed teams. The winner of the eliminator faces the losing team of the first qualifier in the second qualifier. The winner of the second qualifier makes it to the final. Third-placed Gujarat Titans (GT) and fourth-placed Mumbai Indians (MI) will lock horns in the eliminator on Friday (May 30). The second qualifier of IPL 2025 will be played on June 1. The final is scheduled to be played on June 3 in Ahmedabad. RCB and PBKS have never won the IPL trophy.
