Film lovers are all heart eyes and love declarations today, but it’s not because of Cupid.
While Valentine’s Day has taken over the world, resulting in countless roses, teddy bears, and boxes of chocolates, you can put all of that tatter down because Amazon Prime just released the trailer for a brand new rom-com. And it actually looks decent.
Starring Simone Ashley and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, the studio’s upcoming movie, Picture This, is exactly the thing that’s filling the rom-com-sized hole in hearts, according to fans.
It all centres on struggling photographer Pia (Simone, 29), who is told that true love and career success will be the result of the next five dates she goes on.
To make the circumstances even more ideal, her sister is getting married, and her family and friends decide that this is it – it’s time to play matchmaker.
It’s all a bit chaotic and funny until, of course, in true rom-com fashion, her ex-boyfriend, played by Hero, 27, shows up, and let’s just say Pia didn’t really know what chaotic was until then.

What will happen next? We don’t know, fans don’t know, and unfortunately, none of us will find out until it is released on the streaming service on March 6.
But the countdown has already started, and it seems the trailer has provided viewers with enough information to know that this is the rom-com to save the genre, which has been significantly lacking since its ’90s and 00s golden era.
Taking to X, @ZendayasDriving declared: ‘Rom-com is back thank you Simone Ashley’, earning over 125,000 likes and a further 13,000 reposts.
Meanwhile, @drugstoredivas said: ‘And suddenly I’m not even mad about Prime increasing my annual cost anymore.’ With @kanejtruther adding: ‘We are so back’.
@brinasrequiem praised the streamer, writing: ‘Prime Video has been on their grind with romcoms lately. I’m so sat’.

Over on Instagram, the praise continued with fans declaring they didn’t know they needed a collaboration between the Bridgerton actress and After star until it happened.
‘A paring I never knew I needed’, @raisa.journey wrote.
‘Hero and Simone are my two favourites’, @srishti_____pvt added.
deec77_77 also weighed in, writing: ‘So excited! Love Simone Ashley!! Romcoms era!! Can’t wait!’
For fans of Simone, this film is about to get even better as the actress shared on her Instagram account that it also marks the first time she has worked both in front of and behind the camera.

Sharing a series of photos from the set, she told fans: ‘Picture This is out March 6th! My first time producing, I am so excited to share our little movie that I hope brings some joy.’
Helping the actress out was director Prarthana Mohan and the production’s wider cast, including Sindhu Vee, Luke Fetherston, Nikesh Patel, Adil Ray, Anoushka Chadha and Phil Dunster.
Rom-coms have seen a revival in recent years, with the release of multiple top-rated productions, including Adam Brody and Kristen Bell’s Netflix series Nobody Wants This.

Earning a 94% rating on Rotton Tomatoes, plenty of praise online, and 15.9 million views in its first full week, it proved there is a healthy appetite for traditional rom-com films and series.
Anne Hathaway’s The Idea Of You was also popular with viewers, earning an 81% rating on Rotton Tomatoes and nearly 50 million viewers worldwide in its first two weeks on Amazon Prime Video.
Elsewhere, Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s Anyone But You grossed over $220 million at the global box office and had a significant cultural impact despite its 54% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Stream Picture This on Amazon Prime from March 6.
