THREE-TIME major winner Pádraig Harrington has wowed golf fans with a clever hack just before he took to the course for the 2025 PGA Championship. The golf icon revealed the veteran green reading trick during a massive downpour at the host venue of the season's second major. Taking to social media, the Rathfarnham legend posted a video of a rain soaked green at Quail Hollow Golf Club as he revealed a secret trick on how to read the slopes on a green. In an Instagram post during Wednesday’s stormy conditions, the three-time major winner shared this nugget of advice under the tag #paddysgolfTips. It read: “A great way to know the slopes on any green is to take a picture of them when they are flooded.” Fans were quick to respond. “That’s genius." While another joked: “Stop giving away secrets!” and “Don’t let your rivals see this!” Oddly enough, a day prior Hideki Matsuyama was seen on putting greens that were flooded, and unplayable. But it didn't stop the 2021 Masters champion going through his drills alongside his dedicated team, one of which was holding an umbrella over him as the rain continued to thud down on the water lashed greens. Now 53, Harrington continues to impress with both his playing longevity and immense commitment to growing the game. The former Ryder Cup captain is in the field this week thanks to his past champion status. And while he may not be among the betting favourites, the Dubliner remains one of the most respected minds in the sport. The golf legend is currently one of four Irish players out on the course in South Carolina.
