@Source: news18.com
Three men, including a father and son, were arrested for attacking two traffic police officers during a vehicle check in Nalasopara East, near Mumbai, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened near Sitara Bakery in Vijay Nagar, where traffic constables Hanumant Sangle and Sheshnarayan Athre were checking vehicles for rule violations. According to Tulinj police, the officers stopped two men — Parth Narkar and his friend Omkar Panchal — for not wearing helmets, having an issue with their number plate, and not carrying a valid driving licence. A heated altercation between a traffic police Constable and a two Wheeler rider in Nalasopara East’s Sitara Bakery area escalated into a physical scuffle, causing a commotion. The incident was captured on video, which is now rapidly going viral on social media pic.twitter.com/gHQsD2KZ5P — Mudassir Goenka (@MudassirGoenka7) July 15, 2025 “There were multiple violations. They didn’t have helmets, the number plate was not proper, and they didn’t have a permanent licence,” said senior inspector Vijay Jadhav. The situation escalated when Parth called his father, Mangesh Narkar, who soon arrived at the spot. Police said the argument turned physical, and all three men started assaulting the officers. A video of the incident went viral, showing one of the policemen being kicked while lying on the ground. Additional officers were rushed to the location and the three accused were taken into custody. The injured policemen were taken for medical checks and later discharged with minor injuries. “We have arrested Parth Narkar, his father Mangesh Narkar, and Omkar Panchal for assaulting police personnel, obstructing them from doing their duty, and damaging government property,” Jadhav said. One of the officers’ body cameras was reportedly damaged during the scuffle. Police confirmed that Mangesh Narkar works as a clean-up marshal with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). All three were produced in a Vasai court and sent to police custody.
