Nigeria's sprint sensation Favour Ofili and Saint Lucia's golden girl Julien Alfred will face off in a stacked 200m event at the Tom Jones Invitational on Saturday. The women's 200m event at Tom Jones Invitational on Saturday, April 19th will be a race to anticipate between star sprinters Favour Ofili and Julien Alfred as they rekindle their rivalry from college days. Both running for the first time in the event this season, they'll be gunning not just for the needed win to extend their head-to-head battle against each other, but also for impressive times to work on for the rest of the season ahead of the world championships in Tokyo this summer. Ofili and Alfred last raced each other in the Paris Olympics 200m final, where the Nigerian sensation sadly missed out on a podium placement with a sixth-place finish, while Saint Lucia's golden girl blazed to the silver medal, adding to her historic 100m gold. Despite Alfred's new class as a world-renowned sprinter, the duo have had healthy rivalries between each other since college days, and Ofili will be aiming for a famous win to prove her position as one of the world's best female sprinters in the event. Meanwhile, the provisional list has other strong contenders capable of causing an upset and shouldn't be pushovers. Top on the list is Irish track queen Rhasidat Adeleke, USA's Tamari Davis and British duo of Daryll Neita and Amy Hunt, Jamaica's trio of Nickisha Pryce, Niesha Burgher, and Stacey Ann Williams, while Liberia's Thelma Davies with a season's best performance of 22.46s will be an underdog capable of claiming a famous victory.
