FBI seeks gunman who shot at agents during DHS raid on California drug farm

The masked gunman was filmed firing a pistol toward federal law enforcement officers around 2:26 p.m. Thursday, said U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli, who announced the cash reward on X.
Anyone with identifying information and knowledge of the wanted individual’s whereabouts is asked to call the FBI or submit tips via the agency’s web portal. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also released an alert across social media, warning, “SHOOTER ON THE RUN.”
The shooting caught on camera took place while anti-ICE activists clashed with federal authorities carrying out immigration enforcement operations on Glass House Farms, a 5.5 million-square-foot cannabis cultivation facility south of Camarillo.
When a motorcade of DHS agents was executing a search warrant on the property, a massive gathering of protesters waving Mexican flags tried to intercept a part of the convoy by pelting some of the vehicles with rocks and shattering windshields in the process.
As the agents attempted to leave, approximately 100 protesters formed a blockade along the roadway to trap them. The standoff reportedly lasted hours.
805ImmigrantCoalition, a rapid response network sending cells of activists to face off with federal agents in Central Coast California, organized the counterefforts alongside the Party for Socialism and Liberation chapter of Ventura County. Both groups posted real-time tactical updates amid the mass mobilization.
Protesters were instructed to disperse before agents deployed what appeared to be tear-gas canisters and flash-bangs into the crowd, eventually breaking up the mob.
“Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields,” Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) wrote on X. “Trump calls me ‘Newscum’ — but he’s the real scum.”
In response, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott said that after finding minors at the marijuana facility, federal authorities suspect that the farm exploited migrant children for labor.
“Here’s some breaking news: 10 juveniles were found at this marijuana facility — all illegal aliens, 8 of them unaccompanied,” Scott wrote. “It’s now under investigation for child labor violations. This is Newsom’s California.”
Glass House Brands, the California cannabis grower that owns the farm, said in a statement Friday that the company complied with all of the immigration and naturalization warrants.
“Workers were detained and we are assisting to provide them legal representation,” the statement said.
The parent company also disputed ever employing children or violating labor laws.
“Glass House has never knowingly violated applicable hiring practices and does not and has never employed minors,” the statement insisted. “We do not expect this to affect operations moving forward. We will provide additional details when applicable.”
