FC Barcelona legend Ronaldinho praised Lamine Yamal and chose which two teams he would like to see contest this season's Champions League final during an interview with L'Equipe.
Barca’s star player in the early to mid-2000s, the Brazilian predicted that the 17-year-old will take similar billing in the future if he doesn’t have it already.
“He’s a precocious talent,” Ronaldinho said about the Spain international. “I also love watching him for his inventiveness. He needs to confirm that he will do a good job, but he will be a big one for sure.”
First cutting his teeth at Gremio in his hometown of Porto Alegre, Ronaldinho’s maiden European club was of course Paris Saint-Germain ahead of joining Barca in 2003.
With both outfits still in the competition then, the former number 10 would be in favor of them meeting in the Champions League final in Munich on May 31.
“I love both clubs, it would be good for me,” he pointed out. “They’re both in my heart. They are also two teams that work with young people and that could mark the future in the long term.”
Another player to have represented both European behemoths is Ousmane Dembele, who fled Catalonia to switch allegiances and continue his career in the French capital in the summer of 2023.

"I don’t like to compare much. I mainly look at my old teams and those who are still in the Champions League. Ousmane Dembele is at PSG. I like him a lot. He has a bit of Brazilian flair! He confuses, invents, provokes. He is often impossible to predict and, as well as this, scores a lot of goals. He is revealing himself, taking on a different role than at PSG last year or even Barcelona before that," Ronaldinho explained, before moving on to compliment Dembele’s manager Luis Enrique.
"I saw some very nice photos of Luis Enrique with all his players. He is someone we love. He gives it his all. He knows what he does, what he builds. We met in Barcelona when I arrived. I admire this person a lot and respect him. He was a great player who became a great coach. He won everything at Barça and did great things with the Spanish national team. He will succeed in what he is building in Paris. He comes up with a good, engaging game plan. PSG is a team with great potential," Ronaldinho concluded.
