Owosso 7, Clio 6: Owosso needed another heroic moment to pull out the win as Carson Moore launched a walkoff home run in the seventh to defeat Clio. Camden Caswell battled through three innings of work on the mound and Jackson Valasek finished the final four innings. Austin Blaha added a solo home run while Eden Ackley and Cy Thompson collected two hits each in the win. Owosso 13, Clio 1: No heroics were needed in game two as Owosso’s offense came ready to play. Cy Thompson and Carson Moore led the Trojans with two hits each while Liam Patrick, Ryan Maier, Blake Binger, Austin Blaha, and Jackson Valasek all collected one hit each. Ryan Maier started on the mound and gave up one hit through three innings before Jace Norton closed the final two innings for Owosso. Swartz Creek 5, Flushing 1: Swartz Creek’s pitching held off the Raiders as the Dragons took game one. Drew Schmidt threw six innings and gave up three earned runs while striking out seven for Flushing. Flushing 12, Swartz Creek 2: The bats heated up for Flushing in game two as Luke Smith, Cam McIlhargie, and Austin Madrigal all collected two hits. Casey Larner tossed five innings with four strikeouts in the win. Drew Schmidt, Blake Badal, and Trent Everett all added a hit for the Raiders. Bay City Western junior Drew Goik had the top score with a 73 while Davison was represented by William Latchana (74), Max Morris (75), and Jay Morris (78). Grand Blanc was led by Landon Guenther (76), Stefan Baier (78), Ben Thompson (78), and Braeden Hoover (78). Owen Mueller, Cuyler Fielhauer, and Jonah Andrews all added two goals each while Nate Roberts, Lawson Perry, and Calvin Szafranski each added a score. April 29 Scores Davison 6, Midland 4 Grand Blanc 8, Bay City Central 3 Swartz Creek 10, Goodrich 9 April 28 Scores Flint Powers Catholic 12, Saginaw Heritage 10 Linden 9, Bay City Western 5 Swartz Creek 1, Bay City John Glenn 0 (Forfeit) Girls Soccer Montrose 10, Otisville LakeVille Memorial 0: Miley Harrington added another hat trick to her score sheet this season as Montrose put on a show Tuesday night. Rylee Fejes, Brooklyn Perrin, Maddi Rinks, Sam Owens, Adie Fejes, Maylin Studer, and Brynn Whitmire (1st career goal) all found the back of the net in the win. Flint Kearsley 9, Corunna 1: The Hornets earned the win Monday night behind a hat trick from Mia Granados. Margarita Martinez added two scores of her own while Rose Olesen, Sofia Sporman, Isabella Talaski, and Lyliana Sanson-Espinoza each added a goal in the win. Flushing 3, Holly 0: The Raiders picked up a big win Monday night as Jaelynn Prior scored twice and Liv Gioventu added a goal. Kayla Rousseau had two assists and Liv Gioventu one while Alana Babcock earned the shutout in net. April 29 Scores Burton St. Thomas More Academy 5, Lapeer Faith Home School 0 Durand 6, Lansing Everett 3 Ovid-Elsie 8, Byron 0 April 28 Scores Davison 1, Lapeer 0 Fowlerville 9, Byron 1 Genesee Christian 1, Saginaw Valley Lutheran 0 Goodrich 8, Owosso 0 Lake Fenton 0, Fenton 0 Linden 5, Clio 1 Mount Pleasant 14, Flint Carman-Ainsworth 0 Richmond 8, Imlay City 0 Swartz Creek 2, Ortonville Brandon 0 New Lothrop 5, Byron 3: Mallory Heroux tallied 11 strikeouts to lead the Hornets to a win. New Lothrop 15, Byron 1: Victoria Henige paced the Hornets’ offensive effort with a 3-for-4 showing in game two. Goodrich 4, Lake Fenton 1: Goodrich’s Jayden Gohs pitched seven innings and struck out 12 as the Martians took game one. Alisyn Raether paced the Goodrich offense with a 2-for-3 effort while Lake Fenton’s Avery Heil was 2-for-3 as well. Maddie Stanton surrendered only one earned run and tallied seven strikeouts over six innings for the Blue Devils. Lake Fenton 8, Goodrich 7: An RBI-double by Parker Beardsley in the top of the eighth would bring the win home for Lake Fenton. Beardsley went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs while Lydia Slater went 4-for-4 and Laureena Baehl 3-for-3 in the win. Maddie Stanton (4.1 IP) and Avery Stanton (3.2 IP) took the circle for Lake Fenton while Abby Stafanski threw all eight innings for Goodrich. Sophie Swanson and Anna Light each had three hits in the loss. Swartz Creek 13, Flushing 7: The Dragons took game one in an offensive battle on Monday night. Swartz Creek’s Avery Ludwig gave up two earned runs and tallied seven strikeouts before Madeline Pier finished the final two innings. Pier and Ludwig also paced the offensive effort, combining for nine hits between the two games. Flushing was led by Addisyn Good, who went 3-for-4 with a double and two stolen bases, and Taylor Kelley, who went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Swartz Creek 10, Flushing 4: Swartz Creek completed the two-game sweep as it put up an offensive showing again. Selah Fader picked up the win in the circle for Swartz Creek, allowing only three earned runs and tallying nine strikeouts. Addisyn Good went 2-for-3 with a double while Emerson Bodzick, Emma Larner, and Jamesen Follen all added two hits in the loss.
