At 5:13 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning valid from Thursday 3 a.m. EDT until Friday 8 p.m. EDT for Ingham County. The weather service comments, “Minor flooding is forecast for Sycamore Creek at Holt.” “At 8.0 feet, Expect minor flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to the river, in the Lansing Municipal Golf Course and sections of East Mt. Hope Road,” states the weather service. “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.”
