Authorities in Florida arrested a man who allegedly shared posts on social media threatening to kill President Donald Trump. Glen DeCicco was charged with making written threats to kill, the Jupiter Police Department wrote in a press release. He was arrested without incident, police said. DeCicco’s arrest was the culmination of an investigation by police and the U.S. Secret Service, which probed his comments made on social media targeting Trump. On his Facebook, DeCicco shared one post captioned “ass-ass-inate!”. He largely posted general criticisms of Trump’s tariffs, along with March Madness support for the University of Connecticut sprinkled throughout. “The investigation began after JPD was alerted to a concerning Facebook post. Detectives reviewed DeCicco’s social media activity and confirmed that he had made a written threat directed at the President,” the JPD wrote. Florida has been an apparent hotbed for threats against the 45th president ever since would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh showed up at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf course armed with a gun as the then-Republican nominee played golf in September. In January, a woman from West Palm Beach was charged with making violent threats against the president on Facebook. In July, the same month Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to kill Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, Jupiter Police also arrested a man who posted threats to kill Trump and JD Vance on Facebook.
