Food festival with 'world's biggest bouncy castle' coming to Welsh country park with 8-mile beach

Street Food Circus has launched a brand new event in Carmarthenshire this year. The event, titled The Pleasure Gardens, will be at Pembrey Country Park this June, and promises to be a weekend celebration of food, family and circus. Tickets are now on sale for the event, which will take place on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, with prices starting at £8, an additional booking fee for early bookers, and free tickets for children. Visitors can expect a handful of award-winning street food traders representing cuisines from across the world. According to the organisers, visitors can enjoy their meals at communal tables inside the Circus Big Top Diner or spread out on the lawn for "Wales' biggest picnic blanket". The event will also host this year's Welsh Street Food Awards, where visitors can vote for Wales' best street food trader. The winners will go on to compete against the best in the country at the UK finals. Street food traders across the weekend at the Pleasure Gardens include: On top of the street food line-up, there will also be activities at The Pleasure Gardens, including the "world's biggest bouncy castle", Mexican wrestling, the Incredibly Clever Canine Circus, the Big Bubble Disco, Splatch Circus School , axe throwing and Kiss My Putt crazy golf. On the Saturday (June 21), the Pembrokeshire Fire Spinners will perform an evening fire show finale. As well as the Pleasure Gardens event, Pembrey Country Park offers a range of activities, including dry ski slopes, toboggan rides, miniature train rides, adventure play areas, bike rides, and nature trails, as well as its famous eight-mile beach, Traeth Cefn Sidan. Pembrey Country Park also has a campsite for caravans, tents and motorhomes for people who wish to stay for the weekend. Street Food Circus founder and ringmaster, Matt the Hat, said: "As part of our ten events to celebrate our tenth anniversary, we're thrilled to launch another west Wales event, bringing the best of Welsh street food to Pembrey Country Park." He added: "People will already know the Park for its green spaces, sandy beaches, camping and activities, but we’ll be adding our vibrant 'feastival' atmosphere to create a truly magical mid-summer experience. "We're also thrilled to be hosting the Welsh Street Food Awards again - and bringing them to a new location and a new audience. "Previous Welsh winners have gone on to open their own restaurants, launch new street food businesses and win multiple awards at the British Street Food Awards".
