This past weekend, it was reported that three popular AEW wrestlers had moved on from the promotion: Miro, Malakai Black, and Ricky Starks.More Pro Wrestling: Multiple AEW Superstars Removed From Roster Page: ReportNaturally, fans have been wondering where any of these superstars were going to next, particularly if they were going to return to WWE.Apparently, fans don't have to wait long to see where Ricky Starks wound up.On the February 11 episode of NXT, Starks walked into the crowd with no music or fanfare. Instead, he entered and the audience immediately started cheering."It's obvious you know who I am," Starks said to the crowd chanting his name. "If NXT is the future of professional wrestling, well, guess what? You need an absolute star of the future. If this is the hottest brand, well, you need the hottest free agent right now, baby."More Pro Wrestling: WWE Registers New Ring Names After Mass Superstar ReleasesThe crowd continued to chant "Ricky" before they would let Starks finish his surprise promo."Do not let the handsome face and expensive fragrance fool you," Starks continued. "I am here to turn this place upside down. "And everybody's been begging the question, 'When will the revolution be televised again?' And well, I'm here, ain't I?"Announcer Vic Joseph went on to say that the future is brighter than ever, and it's hard to disagree.That being said, there was one interesting detail fans only latched onto immediately: Starks never said his name was Ricky Starks. Time will tell if he keeps the name or if he will take on one of the many new names WWE trademarked.Starks began his career in 2012, making his debut as an enhancement talent on WWE. Most memorably he was in a backstage segment where he was bullied by Ryback at catering.Starks would go on to perform with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), where he would become the inaugural NWA World Television Champion.In 2020, Starks made his debut with AEW, where he would become a part of Team Taz alongside Brian Cage, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Hook.Starks would remain in the main event scene, vying for the AEW World Championship.
