Former Guyana youth player Pooran delighted with his performance in Canada Aug 23, 2025 Sports Kaieteur Sports – Former Guyana youth player Raja Pooran is delighted with his performance in Canada representing Reliance Lions in the 2025 edition of the Ontario Masters Softball Cricket Clubs Over-40, T20 competition. Reliance Lions have progressed to the semi-final segment which is billed for this Sunday. The Lions team will take on Carr Tec Cricket Club at Littles ground in Scarborough. Pooran scored an impressive 52 last Sunday when Reliance Lions defeated United Cricket Club in a quarter-final encounter. The right-handed Pooran also making a steady impression with the ball having grabbed one wicket but was economical by conceding only 7 runs from his maximum three overs, inclusive of a maiden-over. In the final preliminary round match, Pooran claimed three wickets to help his team register a comfortable victory, too. He rated his performance so far excellent and stated that his hard-work has paid off. He is very confident that his team will come out victorious on Sunday and advance to the final which is slated for Sunday, September 7 at Sr. Bedes ground also in Scarborough. Pooran, who is set to represent West Indies Masters team at the 2025 International Masters Cricket T20, Over-40 World Cup in Pakistan later this year, mentioned that he will continue to play positive cricket as well. Two weeks ago, he also churned out a brilliant, all-round performance by scoring 57 and bagging three wickets. Eight teams began participation last June.
